Blogs, Blogger’s and Blogging Does What?

I have heard people asking about blogs over the past few years or so. And I thought it would be fun to find some answers about blogs and blogger’s. With the blogging world growing by millions or billions every month or two, it might be interesting to find out about blogs, bloggers and the blogging idea.

So how did the blogging sites start?

What I have discovered is interesting. You can run a search with the phrase “history of blogging” and find many articles on how it started. I did not really find any exact answer but it was still fun and interesting reading the articles. So really it all comes down to that a blog actually started as a log of web sites of publishers on specific topics. They would keep track of other sites posting content and than post these web sites for the new people cominf to the Internet a place to find all the different sites on the many topics. Well.. ok maybe…

I actually think it all started out with the simple bulletin board on the interent many years ago. People sharing their interest and helping each other in many areas of life & business. Someone would post on a bullentin board and others would post replies. Maketers would post ads or write content that linked to their sales page. It was a crude way of communicating on the Internet but it did serve its purpose in the early years of discovering the Interent.

In my own conclusion; a blog is actually a weblog of a person’s daily activity — more or less a public diary on the web/internet. It may be about them self, someone else or even about an event going on in their neiborhood, town or in the world. Ok now, the weblog actuly evolved by dropping the “we” part of weblog which has become known as a blog. Other features of a blog, they have lots of links to other sites, formatted like a journal, has a personal touch, is updated weekly, daily and sometimes more. It actually depends on the person behind the blog and what they are trying to do with the blog site.

So what is all the hype about blogs on the Internet today?

In reality a blog is a web site were people have the ability to post articles on many topics and have products related to the topics to make a few bucks for a sumplement income. It is actually fun to blog, because there is no limit to what topic you can write about on a blog.

Many bloggers will link to each other in similar topics to help create more activity on their sites. By linking together they find new readers through the technology of the Internet search engines. With this in mind it becomes a place in the Internet world to have a piece of virtual real estate. Why not have a part of the web by starting a blog and post content that excites your interest. So if you like to write, gossip or want to belong to a community on the Internet than a blog might be something you could enjoy for many years to come.

Now you can create content that is conterversal, sincer, gossip or even write reviews about new products on the market. All of these ways can lead to some kind of affiliate type of product. Reviewing a product is a great way to make money on a blog, because a review of a product you like can lead you to an affilaite link to sell the product for the company who makes the product right on your blog. This leads me to the next part of the blogging world.

Are blogger’s, blogging to express them self or to make money?

As mentioned in my previuos paragraph, yes you can make money with your blog. Many bloggers use a blog in conjunction with a main web site to sell products. The reason for this is because a blog has many social options built in to the blog it self. You can link to - what is known as - social bookmarking sites. This is another topic I will cover at a later date so look for it in the future at this blog site. I most likely will be blogging about it soon!

By blogging on a topic in a specific area, this is what marketers will call a “niche” site. When you have a blog in a niche it usaully means you will be able to find advertisement or products to sell on the blog site. Thus the reasoning behind having a blog in conjuction with a main web site. A blog also can hold it’s own as a web site too. The cool thing is you can write about products with links built right in to the text it self too.

I do beleive some people just like to get their opinions out on the Internet and a blog is a great way to do this. I do see people start out this way a lot and all of a sudden they find out they could sell adveertising space to others who want to sell products. To do this though, you must have good content that draws readers to your blog so the ad space can be sold at a reasonable cost to advertisers. Which there is this thing called “PR” (page rank) you must have at a blog site before most advertiser will consider buying ad spce on a blog. “BUT” you can join companies who find advertiser that are looking for a places to advertise. Here again the blog site must have good relative content before they will axcept you for consideration. More about advertising companies in later post at this blog site.

With this in mind I would like to mention you can blog with out actually owning a blog. There is a site that offers you to submit articles in a topic and gives you the ad space to sell or place your own advertisment. YES! You will have control over the ad space. It is a membership site, so there is a small monthly cost but it can be a place to give it a try to see if it can help you creating an income with out a lot of work setting up a blog site. It is actually an article directory with a special offer for article authors but it is posting the articles in a blog network. More about this in future post.

I would like to go more in to detail on all of this but for now I just wanted to “Blog” a little to show that it can be fun and easy to create blog content. Just do a little research or write about a topic you have a lot of knowledge about.

In future post I will cover more about how and were to get a blog. Help you decide if you want to own your blog site, use some of the free blogging sites or a blogging membership site. Their are advantages to each of them and I will cover these topics in more detail as I go along.

Article marketing is very common in today's Internet business world. Most likely, you've heard of article marketing and may have even created some campaigns for a web site to help get traffic through articles.

There are hundreds of article directories on the Internet today. Did posting to them help your traffic building efforts? You may not have seen much response, unless you submitted tons of articles to as many free directories as possible.

Before I talk about power article marketing, let's take a look at how article marketing works in the free directories. When an author submits an article to a free directory, the directory owner uses that article to create an income for himself by placing ads around the articles. The author isn't paying a dime to submit their article, so it's only fair that the site owner be able to cover their costs by creating some income off your efforts.

But why would you want advertisements that you don't control making money for someone else on the pages that house the articles you've worked so hard on? With the ads on the page, chances are that the traffic will go to those advertisements and not to the intended site that you've included in your resource box. All that work to write a high quality article and all the time to submit, but very little in return.

Another disadvantage is that you have to submit your articles to many free directories. Just think about how much time it would take to set up a campaign for just one article?

My intention isn't to discourage you from trying this sort of campaign. Instead, I want to enlighten you about a new kind of article marketing. Let's take a look at what I call power article marketing. So is it any different then the first kind of article marketing campaign? Well... yes and no. You still start out the same by taking the time to research and write an article with content to lure your reader to visit your web site.

But with power article marketing, you no longer need to submit your article to the many other directories. Your power article will be syndicated for you on many other sites in our network. On top of that, you control the advertising space on your article pages, even on the sites your article is syndicated on!

Even better, the article site uses a WordPress format, which allows visitors to comment on your article. This makes your article live and adds regular new content to your pages...the search engines LOVE that!

Oh no! What just happened here? Did this article just become a bit more unique because there is conversation below the article? This could happen at the many sites it was syndicated on, making each article unique, all from just one article submission.

So, now that you know the facts, which marketing technique do you feel is most effective for you?

Joe Klohr has joined up with a popular article directory owner to create Power Article Marketing to help article marketers get the most benefit from their content.
