Keyword Research for Article Marketing

It's really important when writing articles for your article marketing to make sure you've included appropriate and relevant keywords.

You'd be surprised at how many authors write articles but fail to do any keyword research whatsoever.

If your article doesn't have suitable keywords relevant to your article's subject it's unlikely to be picked up by search engines like Google for real people to find when they search online.

If you're not sure why keyword research is necessary then you'll find this article really helpful as it's purpose is to look at how keywords are recognised by Google.

For example lets consider the keyword «Article Marketing». You'll notice it's in the heading of this article, the first paragraph and also used elsewhere in the article.

As an exercise I'd like you to go to the main page of Google and enter the keyword «article marketing» in QUOTATION MARKS into the search box. It's important to put your keyword in «QUOTATION MARKS» as it keeps all the words in your keyword together making sure they're searched for together rather that getting results for each word separately.

When I did a Google search for the keyword «article marketing» the results showed there are 4,160,000 different websites displaying this keyword. What did you get when you ran this search?

Perhaps your immediate response was... FOUR MILLION COMPETITORS... it's not worth my while trying to compete with that many for the keyword «article marketing».

But, what if I was to tell you that all is not as it seems?

Supposing I was to tell you that you only have 897 competitors (number shown in Google at the time of writing this article).

As an author producing articles for article marketing... Do you think you can do better than 897 competitors to get your article ranking highly in the search engines for such a popular keyword? I bet you do.

But, I need to prove to you that you only have 897 competitors before you'll believe me... Right?

Here's what you do.

Close down all your browser windows... and then open a browser showing the Google main page.

To the right of the Google search box you'll see three links... Advanced Search, Preferences and Language Tools... Click on preferences.

In the Google search engine the default setting for each page is set to show 10 search results on each page. But inside 'preferences' there is the option to change «The Number of Results per page» in a drop down menu to 20, 30, 50 or 100.

Select «100» from the drop down menu and click «Save Preferences»

You'll now be able to view 100 search results on each page instead of the standard 10.

Type your keyword «article marketing» in «QUOTATION MARKS» into the search box and click on 'Google Search'.

Notice in the top right side of your page the results will read «Results 1-100 of about 4,160.000».

Scroll right down to the bottom of the page until you see the «Goooooooooogle» sign with page numbers 1 thru 10 shown underneath each of the «o's» in the word Goooooooooogle.

Click on «10» taking you to the very end of the available 1,000 search results from Google.

When I did this at the time of writing this article the very last item was this...

* »In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 897 already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.»

What does your's say?

So, as an author writing articles on article marketing do you think you can structure your articles skillfully enough to be included as one of Google's «Most relevant results» and them compete against only 897 competitors... not 4,160,000 to get a high ranking in the search engines?

That's why keyword research and structuring your articles to make full use of your keywords is so important.

Article Marketing – The Power Of Your Efforts – A Review

Authoring your articles then publishing them on article directories and ezines is absolutely one of the most effective methods for promoting your business. It is also one of the most popular forms of marketing used. There are literally a multitude of directories on the internet where one can submit their articles for free.

Why should we submit articles?

• Article writing can and will help you become branded as the expert. Becoming branded as an expert in turn will increase your web sites traffic, sales and ultimately your profit! If you are not promoting profit the information you are giving to the masses will also find its way to your targeted audience. That includes any program you are marketing.

• Submitting your articles to article directories and ezines provides a way to get free advertising through your resource box, increases page rank by having links pointing back to your website and increases website traffic by getting your articles to targeted readers.

• People also go to article directories looking for content for their own websites. When they get there and find yours, they may use it. When they do, you get further links to your website and more credibility as the expert.

Did I say POWER?

Yes, I said power. As you can see above, there are very valid reasons why one would submit their article to the article directories for free. Now let me say this:

Why would anyone submit their article to a directory and pay for the submission?

Well, I call it article marketing with a twist. Let me explain.

People run an article directory for a few simple reasons. The directory generates free traffic for their promotions. They use it to build their list. They make money through the ad space in the articles. They can also turn around and sell that same ad space to the public, allowing the advertiser to control the ad spot for a nominal fee. This can all turn into a very nice income for the article directory owner.

Running an article directory is not for everyone. If it were, the market would be so saturated that the extreme value of article marketing wouldn't even exist. Yet it does.

What if you could take on the rewards of article marketing and those of the article directory owner without the hassles and expenses of running an article directory yourself? What if you could control the ad space that would otherwise be controlled by the article directory owner? What if you could sell that very same ad space and keep the cash yourself?

Talk about power! Power Articles! Release the power of your article marketing efforts.

Article Content King has the Power.

1. Become a member and submit for free, as usual.

2. Pay to post individual articles and control the ad space yourself.

3. Pay to submit unlimited articles and control the ad spots on your article pages.

4. Pay to post unlimited articles, control that ad space and then get syndicated to a group of other related directories, and control the ad space on all of those, as well!

5. Pay to Post? You get to control the comments to your articles as well, allowing you to create your own social network.

Article-Content-King has scoured the web and created a huge collection of quality articles. Our database of authors is 14,000 plus and growing with submissions of 2000 plus articles per week. Our Power Article Directory is in a blog format, making promotion that much easier.

What Makes A Good Article?

The longest part of writing any article is the research. Many good article marketers spend hours researching what to write about and what keywords to target. They feel that this is what makes a good article.

But is it really?

I believe that anyone is capable of writing a high quality article, even without dong any real research. That includes dyslexic, D-average English students like me. (Yes, I have my work edited and spell check has become a very good friend.)

When I'm interested in a topic, I can write about it for hours AND make it interesting. I am interested in article marketing and learning how to get the most out of my articles, so I can teach the authors of at this site how to do the same.

So what makes a good article? Is it the time and research you put into your subject? Or is it writing about something that interests you?

It's my opinion that writing something from your heart is a better option. Your readers can «feel» your energy and enthusiasm through your writing. Not to say that you can't gain that interest in the subject through your research, but having passion is certainly going to help.

The professional article marketer takes his time researching what to write about and what keywords he wants to target. To him (or her) it's not just research, it's what he loves to do. He already knows what to write about and what other sites in his market will link to, because he has a finger on the pulse of the market!

Is an article good based on how you market it? Possibly!

How good of an article marketer are you?

I'd love to hear your opinion. Please add your comment below.

Article Marketers LOVE When This Happens!

Article marketing is a great way of leveraging the traffic and reputation of other sites on the Internet for your own benefit.

It's possible to submit one article to one site and have it generate thousands of back links for you, if the article is picked up and republished. Article marketers love when their articles go viral!

But the truth is, this doesn't happen very often. This is why submitting one article to multiple article directories has become popular.

An article has a better chance of «going viral» if it is published on a format that encourages a bit more social interaction... like a blog, for example. This allows people to easily comment, bookmark or even subscribe by email to stay updated on the article.

Wouldn't publishing on a blog format instead of a article directory be a lot more beneficial to the article marketer?

It sure would. That's why we made our «Power» article directory a WordPress blog. As an author, your Power articles become a lot more social and YOU control the ad space in the articles.

But did you know...

With a little help from my friends, we have set up a network of blogs, each owned and promoted by a dedicated individual. Each of these blogs are on a different C Class IP address and each owner is willing to give you control over the articles you submit.

What if it were possible to syndicate every approved Power article you submit to ArticleContentKing automatically on every blog in our network?

Pretty cool, huh?

That's right, your article isn't just published on one site, it's published on 10 sites (at least) and you control the ad space in your articles at every site.

Do you remember how I talked about reselling your ad space? 7 ad spaces in each article TIMES 10!!

For a limited time, we are making this very thing available at Article-Content-King. For just $47.97 per month, you can submit up to 10 Power articles per month and have each article automatically syndicated across the entire network of partner blogs.

Join Article Content King now, for free... then upgrade to GOLD

There are currently 10 blogs on the network... 2 more will be added in the next few weeks. Who knows how many will be added in the next few months?

If you are interested in being a blog owner yourself, there may be room for you to set up a article directory blog on the network. I'll be explaining the benefits of doing that in another post

Here’s how to make some real profit from your articles…

Today I am going to talk about how you can use this pay to post system to make money from your articles.

The reason you are able to make money with your articles at this site is that you control the ad space within your articles. You may not realise this, but blog advertising is a really hot seller. It's the only product I have ever sold where people actually send unsolicited email to me asking if they can buy it.

Advertising space on a high traffic website, is a valuable commodity on line. By submitting your articles here, you unlock full control over the ad space in your articles for life. As more and more people use and promote this service (more on promoting your articles later), the value of the ad space you control will increase.

When you go for Silver membership at Article Content King you are able to submit 10 «Power Articles» for free every month. While others are paying $1 per article, you can post 10 for just $7.47.

In your account, you can control 7 ad spots in your articles, you set your 7 ads in dashboard and they will appear in every article you submit. You can change and update them as often as you like, and can display any type of ad you choose... (G rated Ads only).

This means that as you submit your 10 articles every month, you are also building up your own advertising network. With a simple copy and paste job, you can make any ad you want display on all the article pages you have created. The cost remains at $7.47 per month, but your network gets bigger all the time.

You can use these ad spots to display your own ads, or... you can resell them to the growing market of people who will want to advertise on your blog.

You «only» get control over 7 ad spots, so you can only ever sell to a maximum of 7 advertisers per account. But what you can offer those people in terms of exposure though your articles is worth a lot...

The semi exclusivity can also be a real turn on to a potential customer, especially if you do not sell your ad space to any 2 sites who are directly competing with each other.

With all the thousands (millions?) of people advertising in your market, how hard is going to be for you to find 7 to buy your ad space.

They would get a great deal and you would get over 900% return on what it costs you to run the ad space. Yes, it's only $70 but there is no denying that it's a 700% return on the $7.47 per month it costs own the network.

Now that's not bad is it?

Why Is Article Marketing So Popular?

Just about every business that is trying to build a presence online is using articles to promote their web site and there's no shortage of places to submit articles for free.

Article marketing is one of the best ways there is to build an online presence. You submit your articles to article directories and leverage the traffic and reputation of the site to promote your own. Even better than that, people come to article directories looking for content for their web sites, blogs, ezines and even e-books. This means that your articles can get picked up and used all over the place, building more back links for you and leveraging the traffic and reputation of even more sites to promote your own.

Article marketing, when done correctly can really boost your search engine ranking and generate an unstoppable flow of traffic to your web site. Yes, I said unstoppable! Even if you turned your site off completely, the domain name would continue to receive traffic from links.

So why would anyone pay to submit an article to articlecontentking.com when there are so many places to submit them for free?

Let's start by looking at why anyone would run a free-to- post article directory.

Why would someone set up and pay for a site that allows people to post articles for free? The answer is simple... they make money by doing so.

Running an article directory is probably the easiest way to build a list, as well as a huge content site.
And that's what Internet Markters want and need. Over the last 3 years, almost 15,000 people registered at Article Content King. Until recently, all we had on the site was a link that said (new user?) There was no sales copy at all!

I have never come across anything easier to promote than your own article directory!

Article directory owners make money through the ad space in the articles. With such a large site that is growing so quickly (we get about 2000 new articles every week), even AdSense ads can generate a nice profit for the site owner.

Site directory owners can also sell the ad space directly on a category-targeted basis, allowing the advertiser to control one ad spot in every articles in their category for a very small fee!

With over 200 categories and 3 ad spots available in each category, at Article-Content-King just $3 a month still generates a nice income. And, as you can imagine, it's quite easy to sell.

Running an article directory site can be very lucrative indeed. It can also be a lot of hassle and it's not for
everyone. Besides, if every article marketer set up their own article directory, the value of marketing with articles would surely diminish.

But what if you have the benefits of an article marketer and an article directory owner all rolled into one? What if you could control the ad space in your articles, display your own ads, or even resell it for profit without the hassle and expense of site ownership?

Wouldn't that make your article marketing efforts more powerful?

When you pay a small fee to submit your article here, you unlock the ad space in your article -- 7 spots in total!

The cost to post an article is just a one-time fee of $10, but you have control over the ad space forever.
And it gets even better...

The Power Article Directory is a WordPress blog with some tweaks here and there. It's just as social as any other WordPress blog, and a lot more social than most article directories. Being a WordPress blog, it's a lot easier for people to link to and bookmark your content. Your visitors can also comment on your articles. Of course, you maintain the ability to moderate your comments and all the Spam gets eaten automatically, so you don't have to worry about it.

It's also a LOT easier for me to promote a blog format than it is a directory format. This means that articles submitted here are a lot more likely to get great traffic.

Do you think $10 is a lot to pay to submit one article? Then what if we make it just $10 to submit 10 articles? That's just $1 each!

Would you pay just $10 per month to be able to submit 10 articles per month to a site that offers all this?

Then you need an Article-Content-King Silver membership.

Later in this series, I am going to show you how easy you can make money with your articles, simply be reselling the ad space within.

Until then

My best to you

Dan Blackburn

Article Marketing vs. Power Article Marketing

This article is copyright by Joe Klohr

Article marketing is very common in today's Internet business world. Most likely, you've heard of article marketing and may have even created some campaigns for a web site to help get traffic through articles.

There are hundreds of article directories on the Internet today. Did posting to them help your traffic building efforts? You may not have seen much response, unless you submitted tons of articles to as many free directories as possible.

Before I talk about power article marketing, let's take a look at how article marketing works in the free directories. When an author submits an article to a free directory, the directory owner uses that article to create an income for himself by placing ads around the articles. The author isn't paying a dime to submit their article, so it's only fair that the site owner be able to cover their costs by creating some income off your efforts.

But why would you want advertisements that you don't control making money for someone else on the pages that house the articles you've worked so hard on? With the ads on the page, chances are that the traffic will go to those advertisements and not to the intended site that you've included in your resource box. All that work to write a high quality article and all the time to submit, but very little in return.

Another disadvantage is that you have to submit your articles to many free directories. Just think about how much time it would take to set up a campaign for just one article?

My intention isn't to discourage you from trying this sort of campaign. Instead, I want to enlighten you about a new kind of article marketing. Let's take a look at what I call power article marketing. So is it any different then the first kind of article marketing campaign? Well... yes and no. You still start out the same by taking the time to research and write an article with content to lure your reader to visit your web site.

But with power article marketing, you no longer need to submit your article to the many other directories. Your power article will be syndicated for you on many other sites in our network. On top of that, you control the advertising space on your article pages, even on the sites your article is syndicated on!

Even better, the article site uses a WordPress format, which allows visitors to comment on your article. This makes your article live and adds regular new content to your pages...the search engines LOVE that!

Oh no! What just happened here? Did this article just become a bit more unique because there is conversation below the article? This could happen at the many sites it was syndicated on, making each article unique, all from just one article submission.

So, now that you know the facts, which marketing technique do you feel is most effective for you?

Joe Klohr has joined up with a popular article directory owner to create Power Article Marketing to help article marketers get the most benefit from their content.

The 8 Most Effective Methods Of Promoting Your Articles

Now that you're ready to create your own articles, you need to know how you're going to promote those articles. You must have a promotion plan before you even write the article. Why? Because part of your promotion deals with the content of your article and how it is written. If you don't have the right article, all your promotion efforts will be wasted.

Professional article marketers know this. They also know the following tricks about how to promote your article. Using as many of these as possible will help you land high in the search engines, bringing you coveted search engine referral traffic.

1. Make sure the keywording is done well. There are hundreds of keywording tools out there, but perhaps the best system is to have a focused topic and a good article outline. If you're focused and say what you're going to say in the fewest possible words, your keywording is going to naturally be good. In addition, compared to intentionally keyworded articles, an article written like this is easy and enjoyable to read for humans, instead of just being spider bait.

2. Link back to your own articles from your home pages. Think about your linkbacks as a web; you want to keep traffic moving between them smoothly. This keeps customers moving between your own pages. But more importantly, the more complex linklove you have going to your articles, the higher the will be pushed in Google rankings, and the more potential visitors referred from search engines you'll get.

3. Write compelling articles that present new information and make people think. If you can deliver one «aha!» moment in each article you write, you will quickly gain the reputation of a guru, and there's nothing better than that.

4. Create a perfect resource box, and use it in every article with good anchor text for your link. The better your resource box is at promoting YOU, as opposed to the article, the more readers will come to check you out.

5. Email webmasters and others who might be able to use your article on their site with a short teaser about it, and invite them to reproduce it. This is not a technique to use lightly; you're better off doing this with webmasters you've developed a relationship with in some manner. However, if you do it sparingly and are careful about which webmasters you approach, you can really get some good traffic. The best webmasters to approach are the ones who distribute newsletters that your article would work well in.

6. Pull all your articles together into a Squidoo lens. When you have a body of work covering one niche subject, it can be hard to keep it together. Squidoo lenses will allow you to link out to all your articles in one topic area and give each one a boost in linklove. In addition, a well-put-together Squidoo page can rank pretty high on Google itself.

7. Create a fantastic title for your article. Potential readers will always see this first; if you have a title that grabs their attention by the collar and yanks it close, you've gotten a pageview. It's helpful for SEO if your article also includes your keywords, but it's not an absolute requirement. Even if you can change it later, try to get it right the first time.

8. Keep it short. Reading online is difficult and readers only tolerate so much. Lists and bullets are your friend; because listing is easy to read and digest, this sort of article will always play well.

And with that – do you have other tricks to share?

Dan J Blackburn owns the popular article directory Article Content King the Only Free Pay To Post Article Directory giving full control of article space on pages to the article publisher.

Why Use Adsense For Your Content Sites and Publications

By Randy Wood

Adsense is essential for your content sites. To know this is to know first how it works.

The concept is actually simple, just think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script code into a certain website, any website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script code will pull advertisements from the Google Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

The search engine is really the one handling all the tracking and monetary payments, providing a simple way for webmasters of all types to display content-sensitive and highly targeted ads without having the hassle of soliciting advertisers, collecting funds and monitoring the clicks and statistics, which could be a time-consuming task in itself. It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engines pull the Adsense ads. There are plenty of advertisers to go around. Also, many webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused on making profit from these search engines.

One of the main reasons why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it has already come a long way in understanding the needs of both publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced systems that allow full ad customizations. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats and colors to better complement their own website and fit their own webpage design.

The different formatting, embedding the adsense ads into publishers and webmasters content enables the site owners the possibility of more click through from visitors who may or may not be aware of what they are clicking on. Adsense ads can also appeal to the website visitors thus compelling them take that next step of looking up what the ad is all about. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and be making profits in the process.

The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to perform tracking, not only with how their sites are progressing, but also the earnings based on the webmasters defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing. By using customizable reports that have the ability to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates, the webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within each and every website they populate. Trends are also easily spotted as well.

With the real-time reporting now provided by the search engines, the effectiveness of any changes made can be assessed quickly. Webmasters and Publishers can in pretty much real time sort out the individual ads that people are making the most clicks on. An ever-changing demand would be met while generating cash for webmasters and publishers. The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight into which pages, ads and domains are performing the best.

One of the main reasons is that advertisers have realized the effective benefits associated with having their ads served on esentially targeted websites. This increases the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in one or all of their products and/or services. All of this due to the ads content and its authors constant maintenance. There are those that do not use Adsense in their websites and publications, they may take the option of having other people take care of their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites without their own effort. They can generate the funds needed to take care of this for them.

Adsense is definately all about targeted content. The more targeted your content is, the more targeted the search engines' ads will be. Some web masters and publishers are focused on their sites and publications content and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the adsense ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best. Create a well developed, informative usefull website or publication and top it off with effective targeted adsense ads, one is sure to see terrific results.

There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money to be gained from advertisements. The cash generated from adsense ads only came into existence when webmasters and publishers realized how they could actually make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content was the most important factor that was taken seriously. It still is to serious marketers today, of course, with the allure of money. That's what it all about, right?
